Intervention is done with the aim to prolong life and improve symptoms. Intervention should be safe. Modern intervention must be safe and often done with minimum invasive with the aim for a shorter hospital stay and a faster recovery period.

TEVAR is a minimally invasive procedure done to repair and restore the anatomical and function of the aorta. Aorta is the largest blood vessel in the human body supplying oxygenated blood to the body. Traumatic injury or deformity to aorta will require immediate intervention and TEVAR procedure often turn out to be a life-saving procedure.

 

TEVAR procedure is done via a Multi-Disciplinary Team approach in University Malaya Medical Centre.

Uniportal VATS is a single keyhole surgery procedure carried out to resect partial of lung. Video-assisted surgery utilizing a small incision as entry point to access chest cavity guided by camera system. This procedure was first performed in Malaysia ,University of Malaya in 2019
